This was a multi-year project where we closely followed agile development methodology to direct development & engage with stakeholders. Together Webdigi & Affinity Shipping have produced an incredibly powerful web based platform that does not compromise on performance, usability or aesthetics
We worked together very closely with Affinity Shipping to produce a very powerful website & integrated research portal for customers. In addition to the powerful web portal, we have an iOS and Android application that alerts customers to research reports & publications. This bespoke web platform was developed over the course of several years. At inception, the research team outlined its vision for the system. The idea of tracking vessels, valuation of merchant shipping vessels, publishing reserach data, various reports (both video & text based). All of this had to be delivered through a seamless experience on web & mobile devices. We also provided the team with an API for internal and external use for data operations.
From a technical perspective this project used Node.js, SQL Server, PHP, MySQL, Linux, Heterogenous replication, Amazon Web Services, Highcharts, Path finding algorithms for vessel tracking, R for visualisations of data and various other opensource libraries.
Delivering this multi-year web development project was only possible to the great vision at Affinity combined with our Agile project management techniques, continuous integration, expertise in building powerful web applications, rapid prototyping, knowledge of progressive web applications & constant customer interaction.
